- Hanna Montana (Tinkerbell Alter) vs. Miley Cyrus
I was checking my email on Yahoo.com the other day, and happened to see the little news brief about Miley Cyrus and the most recent run in she’s had with the Parents Television Council. Apparently, the new video for her song “Who Owns My Heart?”, from her Can’t Be Tamed Album, is way too sensual for her young, adolescent, impressionable fan base. The kicker to this whole thing is her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, is on the Parents Television Council board! Well, looks like he picked a fine time to call out sick, because this was the statement issued on behalf of the Parents Television Council regarding the sultry video:
“It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one,” Tim Winter of the Parents Television Council said. He further added, “It sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly.”
Well, let’s see what the hoopla is all about. Check out her “Who Owns My Heart?” video:
Hmmm….I don’t see what the problem is. I mean isn’t it normal for a 17-year-old ‘virgin’ suppose to be blindfolded and sprawled out on the bed, slinking around like a horny snake? I mean, isn’t that what they are supposed to be doing? As long as she’s staying true to herself, it’s not hurting anything. She’s just having fun, right?

Oh, wow! So, it’s NOT age appropriate for a 17-year-old to look like this? :
Well, I guess it makes sense that Miley has been ‘upgraded’ from her Tinkerbell (Never Grow Up/Alien) Alter, and has been transforming into a full-blown Beta (Sex-Kitten) Alter.
Confusing isn’t it? Well, if you know the way they program these poor Illuppets, you know this isn’t something she came up with on her own. It seems Daddy Cyrus has always been within arms reach of his daughter. Has he been deemed her lifelong ‘handler’? Before we jump to any conclusions, let’s watch this interview they did together.
First off, they look more like a married couple than a father and daughter. And that’s coming from an EXTREME daddy’s girl.
Notice they never once mention her mother, Leticia Finley-Cyrus, who is very much alive and well. Billy Ray seems to have Miley with him at all times. It’s interesting to me is the sabbatical (or what I would like to call Miley’s initial ‘programming’ period) he took to be with his family, and when he decided to make his reemergence back into the world, Miley was right there with him. What’s even more interesting is how he stated he kept telling her this wasn’t the life for her, but allowed her to come to ever single show and let her sing on stage.
Way to use that reverse psychology, Dad!

Dad says ‘to do what you do best and ignore the critics. Love what you’re doing and stay focused for the “art” and not worry so much about opinion.’
Really? Are you serious, Billy Ray?!
And what, in this day and age, are people all over the world seeing as this CHILD’s best?
Even if it is a fake, can you still see the madness in someone actually taking the time to make a fake like this of a 17 year old CHILD?!

it seems that you the the people already cast to stone when it comes to Miley,
so what the use of other opinion!!!! you and the papparazzi and the media, are perfect no wrong doing… for the rest of us esp my opinion probably won’t count.. This teen that your talking about is actually subtle compare to other teens i’ve encounter,,,,,,,, the only difference is she’s famous. people make things up and make such a big deal of nothing, from a video and photograph you people put a meaning behind it always. i don’t get it, don’t you guys have kids you should put your first priority or look for a job, take a class instead of butting in Miley’s life.. it’s her life, if she screw them up, who gets hurt you or her??? as far as she’s a role model, i am quite sure parents can tell them right from wrong…

Not quite sure what you mean by ‘you people’ since I’m only speaking for my own opinion here, but I do see what you are saying and that is exactly my point. Yes, she’s a famous teen, which means she has more ability to touch the lives of so many children. I’m not casting any stones at her, actually quite to opposite. I’m seeing her as a victim in the kill-or-be-killed world of the entertainment industry. She is being used to destroy the last bit of childhood innocence this world has left.

In my opinion Miley is going too far…waaaaaaay too fast and honestly it doesn’t seem that her father gives a damn if she is exploited in the music business. I know that there comes a time that female pop singers want to break the “little girl” mold they have been having since they started singing, but being half naked and selling sex is NOT the way to go. I feel that she would still have a huge following of fans without taking the route that she is taking now. However this seems to be the way that so many female artists feel they need to go just in order to sell albums. I have to say that Miley’s videos and photos are completely inappropriate!

Agreed. If only it was as simple as her wanting to break out of the little girl mold, but from what I keep seeing, it’s not like an agenda to rid youth of their innocence without them even realizing or noticing it. It’s like they are being desensitized to how children and more importantly, how young women should carry themselves and how they should be treated.

I see your point, however the difference with Miley from Brittany and Christina is the fact that we didn’t really see them change before our very eyes. Yes, they were both on the MK Ultra Club as children, but they were not the mega influential stars that Miley has become. Miley Cyrus is a ‘brand’, Brittany and Christina come and go all of the time. Even the Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen empire don’t have the same type of influence that the Hanna Montana conglomerate has reached. Brittany and Christina came out on the music scene as teenagers already, and promptly fell off, rose back to the top, and fell back off again. Their roller coaster lives are unfortunately more for entertainment and distraction than to persuade the masses.
All the little girls want to be Miley, not Brittany or Christina. Therefore, the way her father is allowing her to become is not helping the situation.
In regards to the guys from the Jr. Illuppet Club getting off Scott-free, totally agreed, but it goes back to the million dollar question, ‘Boy and girl both sleep with 100 people. He’s the ‘man’ and she’s a slut. Why is that?’

Hey, buttafly, I have read your blogs since last month and I just had to comment, I agree on what you said about miley cyrus. I just find it very interesting that her mother and father have just gotten divorced last month, it said in the chgo tribune after 17 years of marriage, I could see this coming because of everything going on that we saw with her being both hannah montana and all of the acting out with the sexually provocative pictures, and the pedophile pictures she took with her handler oops father, and her brain dead mother was no where to be found.Keep up the good work girl. You know that I love both you and dirty gurl I love your focus, and the time and energy you take to do you research to keep me well informed. Thank you.

Man, her mother has been a ghost this entire time! I vaguely remember about 3 years back the paparazzi got a snap of Miley and her mother walking out of a Target. That’s the ONLY time I’ve ever seen her mom. So, it totally makes you wonder where has she been and what in the world has she been so busy doing she didn’t have time to see what her child was turning into?!

I think miley is becoming a woman and smelling herself (as my grandmother would say). There are lots of teenage girls who take similar pics, only reason why its a problem with miley is because so many young girls look up to her. Well, thats when parents do their job and tell their young daughter(s) that you dont do what others do and you enlighten her on the dangers that can come from taking such pictures. If she dont listen, she will learn, the hard way.
